A workshop for our Legacy Protection Members and their Guests!
 

Aging comes with difficult decisions, but you don’t have to face them alone. Join us for Aging Gracefully. This workshop addresses the real challenges of aging and provides practical solutions to help you or your loved ones navigate this journey with confidence.
 

Your hard-earned wisdom can and should provide a last chapter better than you could imagine.  

Join our panel of experts—a 20-year veteran from the Area Agency on Aging, our own professional elder care coordinator, and an experienced estate planning attorney. They will tackle some of the most pressing issues aging families face today: 

When is the right time to plan for long-term care? Avoid the stress of last-minute decisions by learning how to evaluate care options early, from assisted living to in-home support. 

How do you manage escalating health care costs? Understand how Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance can work together to protect your savings. 

When should driving stop? Learn how to recognize unsafe driving signs and handle this sensitive conversation with your loved one. 

How can you prevent falls at home? Get tips on making simple home modifications to ensure safety without compromising independence.

I am also a PILLAR instructor and provide workshops and seminars on family caregiving.

 

Kathy Clinton, Elder Care Coordinator

Kathy is the Elder Care Coordinator for Hammond Law Group. Kathy’s experience helps families navigate the complexities of aging. She works with clients and their families. Her work ensures personalized, compassionate support during some of life’s most challenging transitions. She wears many hats. On any given day, she might be finding home care options, coordinating services with healthcare providers, or advocating for clients in the healthcare system. Elder care coordinators fill in the many gaps left by existing support services. Kathy ensures that seniors receive the attention and care they deserve.

Kathy collaborates with Hammond Law Group’s estate planning and elder law attorneys to offer clients a comprehensive approach to aging well.

Kathy empowers families by providing clear, actionable advice. She understands the emotional and logistical challenges of aging. And she gives every client has access to the best resources and support.

At “Aging Gracefully,” Kathy will share her wealth of knowledge, guiding attendees on how to make informed decisions for their future. Her approach combines practical solutions with heartfelt care, helping families plan ahead with confidence and peace of mind.

 


Whitney Hey, Attorney

Whitney first became interested in law school when an interfamily conflict meant that a guardianship hearing was necessary for her grandmother, and she attended the hearing as moral support.

Whitney’s goal is to help make the estate planning process as easy as possible for her clients, so that at they feel confident that their wishes will be handled appropriately.

Whitney graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2017 after completing the 2-Year Accelerated program.

After law school Whitney passed the July 2017 bar exam and began her work as an associate attorney for The Moller Law Group LLC. which focused on family law, probate, and trust and estate planning. In 2020, when the firm was purchased by the Business Law Group and rebranded as the Family Law Group, P.C. Whitney continued to represent clients in Trust and Estate Law, Probate Law and Elder Law. She began working for Hammond Law Group in January 2023.

When Whitney is not at work, she enjoys reading science and historical fiction. She is a Colorado native and enjoys hiking in the beautiful state of Colorado with her standard poodle Dax (who is named for Jadzia Dax from Star Trek DS9.) Whitney also enjoys learning new skills and searches out classes for new hobbies. Among her current hobbies are gardening, knitting, and stained glass.

Catherine Hammond

Catherine Hammond is the CEO and founder of Hammond Law Group, a Colorado-based estate planning law firm she founded in 2005. With a strong focus on protecting families from the legal consequences of disability and death, she creates comprehensive estate plans that minimize taxes, costs, and government interference.

A native of Denver, Catherine completed her undergraduate studies at Coe College in Iowa, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver College of Law in 1993, concentrating on estate planning, tax, and mediation. Catherine is a member of various professional organizations, including WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Colorado Springs Estate Planning Council, and the Purposeful Planning Institute. Beyond her legal expertise, Catherine provides transformational coaching to support clients and their families through life transitions.
